Ukraine has opened new checkpoint "Krasnoilsk" on border with Romania
The Krasnoilsk – Vicovu de Sus international automobile checkpoint has been open since November 10.
This was reported in the press service of the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine.
It is noted that until now, there was only one checkpoint for cargo vehicles, "Porubne – Siret," on the border with Romania. Today, it is one of the busiest checkpoints because it is the route to ports in the south of Europe.
The full opening of the "Krasnoilsk – Vikovu de Sus" checkpoint will improve the situation on the Ukrainian-Romanian border. After completing the necessary works on the Romanian side, the point will allow cargo transport 24 hours a day.
The "Krasnoilsk – Vikovu de Sous" international automobile checkpoint operates 24 hours a day and has three traffic lanes for entry and exit from Ukraine.
Before the opening of the newly constructed automobile checkpoint, 7.3 km of the road was overhauled. Up to 100 trucks can pass through this checkpoint per day. Traffic is allowed for cars and empty trucks.
Deputy Minister of Infrastructure Mustafa Nayem reported that this is the first crossing point built from scratch in the last quarter of a century and the second – during the entire period of Independence.
According to the "Krasnoilsk" project, it was built only for passenger transport and only for work during the day. Given the critical situation on the Romanian border, Ukraine reoriented the checkpoint work and agreed with the Romanian side that this checkpoint would be a full-fledged cargo checkpoint.
Reference
A crossing point across the state border is a specially designated area at railway and automobile stations, in the sea and river ports, at airports (airfields) with a complex of buildings, structures, and technical facilities, as well as a specially designated water area in sea and river ports where border, customs and other types of control and passage of persons, vehicles, goods and other property across the state border are carried out.
We will remind you that Rubryka wrote that a new checkpoint with Romania would be operational in November.
