Air defense equipment, Stingers and more in new US military aid package
On Thursday, the United States will announce the allocation of another package of military aid to Ukraine, Jake Sullivan, the US president's national security advisor, announced at a briefing.
This is reported by European Pravda.
"Today, the United States will announce a new package of military aid to Ukraine, which will include important air defense equipment, such as missiles for Hawk air defense systems, as well as four Avenger systems equipped with Stinger missiles," Sullivan said.
Biden's adviser clarified that the new aid package would complement other air defense equipment already provided to Ukraine by US allies.
"Last week, when I was in Kyiv, I had the opportunity to discuss directly with President Volodymyr Zelensky and his team on the ground what exactly Ukraine needs to have the strongest possible position on the battlefield. He added that strengthening air defense plays a significant role for Ukraine against russia's use of cruise missiles and Iranian drones for attacks on critical civilian infrastructure," he added.
The last time the United States announced a military aid package to Ukraine was at the end of October. It included ammunition for HIMARS systems, precision artillery shells, remote mine systems, HMMWV armored vehicles, and ammunition for small arms worth a total of $275 million.
