NATO Secretary General: russia's retreat from Kherson will be another victory for Ukraine
The withdrawal of the russian army from the right-bank Kherson region will be another victory for Ukraine in the war against russia's aggressor country
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said this at the briefing in Rome on November 10, EP writes.
The head of the North Atlantic Alliance noted that Ukrainian forces have demonstrated the ability to push back russian troops and liberate their territories.
"We have taken into account russia's announcement about the retreat from Kherson. We must see how the situation on the ground will develop in the coming days.
What is clear is that russia is coming under heavy pressure, and if they leave Kherson, it would be another victory for Ukraine," NATO Secretary General said.
The day before, Stoltenberg said that it would be possible to draw conclusions about the events around Kherson later from the development of events.
However, he reminded us that Ukraine has repeatedly forced russian troops to leave the occupied territories.
We will remind, on the afternoon of November 9, the Minister of Defense of the russian federation, Sergei Shoigu, announced that russia had decided to withdraw from the right bank of the Dnipro.
At the moment, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine cannot either deny or confirm the information about the so-called withdrawal of russian troops from Kherson, but offensive actions are proceeding according to plan.
