US will respond in case of russia’s nuke attack on Ukraine – General Hodges

If russia still dares to use nuclear weapons against Ukraine, the US is ready to respond: after that, most of the russian military capabilities will be destroyed.

Rubryka reports, referring to the statement of the former commander of United States Army Europe, retired general Ben Hodges, in an interview with Channel 24.

"US President Joe Biden has already stated that if russia makes a terrible mistake and uses weapons of mass destruction, the consequences will be catastrophic," Hodges emphasized.

According to the general, if russia uses nuclear weapons, there will be no positive consequences for russia.

"There will be zero of them if the russians decide to use nuclear weapons. It will not bring them gains on the battlefield but only trouble. Because then the collective West, led by the USA, will have to react," said Hodges.

At the same time, the US general noted that the Kremlin wants people to talk about nuclear weapons and express their fears as much as possible.

He emphasized that "russian nuclear weapons are effective only when they are not used."

"As soon as they (nuclear weapons – ed.) are used, that's it. Then the USA will intervene and destroy most of russia's military capabilities," the general warned.

He also pointed out that the russian federation has no friends, citing the example of Xi Jinping's meeting with Chancellor Olaf Scholz. At the time, the Chinese leader said that he condemned russia's alleged use of nuclear weapons but at the same time condemned the threat of atomic weapons.

"In other words, russia has no friends in this matter, maybe only North Korea. But they have no allies who would approve the use of nuclear weapons against Ukraine," Hodges concluded.

We will remind you that the leader of the Kremlin, vladimir putin, and his entourage often resort to threats to use nuclear weapons, particularly against Ukraine.

In turn, the Pentagon warned that the Kremlin would receive a severe response if russia used nuclear weapons in the war against Ukraine.

Meanwhile, Western countries say they are using all means, including diplomatic ones, to prevent nuclear escalation by russia.
