Kyiv arranged first heating point with bathrooms, dining rooms, and places to rest: why this is a solution

Visitors to the points will have access to news and current information about the city and psychological support.

What is the problem?

russia continues to shell Ukrainian cities and villages. In October, russian troops massively attacked our country's critical infrastructure. As a result, Ukrenergo applies power cuts. Ukrainians are preparing for a brutal winter, and there may also be interruptions with heating.

What is the solution?

In each district of Kyiv, an average of 100 heating points will be prepared in case of critical damage to the heating system.

"Due to the aggression of the russian federation, we have damage to our country's energy supply system. Therefore, we are preparing for a difficult winter. On the instructions of the Kyiv mayor, Vitaliy Klitschko, about a thousand heating points will be formed before winter. There are about 100 points in each district. All of them will be arranged on the basis of social facilities since it is there that we will provide heat and energy supply in the event of a critical situation," Roman Tkachuk said.

How does it work?

Heating stations are equipped with everything necessary: ​​heat, lighting, bathrooms, dining rooms, places to rest, banks of warm clothes, and warm blankets. In the buildings of such social facilities, there are protective structures where you can descend in case of an air alarm.

In addition, the points will be equipped with emergency power generators and heat guns. If necessary, emergency personnel will be on duty nearby. Such social facilities have rooms for providing medical assistance.

According to the director of the Department of Education and Science, Olena Fidanyan, visitors to the points will have access to news and current information about the city and psychological support.

"If such heating points start working, the social object turns into an object of population support. This is a large complex of work in which specialists from various departments will be involved," said Olena Fidanyan.
