Ukrainian teachers have already received about 30,000 laptops from Google: what is the solution

In total, about 30,000 laptops out of the planned 50,000 were delivered to Ukraine's regions this year.

This was reported by the Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, Mykhailo Fedorov.

What is the problem?

Due to constant russian shelling, thousands of schools have been completely or partially destroyed. And training in an offline format is not always possible due to regular air strikes and threats of new shelling. Therefore, many schools have switched to a blended or online learning format. However, not all teachers have the technical capabilities to conduct lessons.

What is the solution?

The Ministry of Digital Affairs and the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine continue the "Laptop for every teacher" initiative. With the support of Google and UNESCO, new Chromebooks are regularly delivered to educational institutions.

"Teachers are effectively continuing distance learning, and children are getting an education even in the extremely difficult conditions of a full-scale war," Mykhailo Fedorov says.

How does it work?

In total, about 30,000 laptops out of the planned 50,000 were delivered to the regions of Ukraine this year. On October 28, almost 9,000 of them arrived in the Lviv, Volyn, Ternopil, Transcarpathian, Ivano-Frankivsk, and Chernivtsi regions. And on October 31, another 5,000 laptops were delivered to the Zhytomyr region and Kyiv.
