Ukraine received €2 billion of macro-financial assistance from EU

On October 18, Ukraine received 2 billion euros of macro-financial assistance from the European Union

Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal announced this on Telegram.

The government official noted that this is the first tranche of the 5 billion euro aid package.

"Today, our state received another tranche from the European Union aimed at supporting the economic stability of Ukraine," Shmyhal wrote in the message.

The Prime Minister noted that the funds would help cover urgent budgetary expenses, particularly in the social and humanitarian spheres.

Shmyhal also reminded that, in general, Ukraine received 4.2 billion euros of macro-financial assistance from the EU this year. He thanked the European partners.

The government official also emphasized that the parties are working further on new financial programs for the next year.

We remind you that at the beginning of September, the Council of the EU approved the proposal of the European Commission to allocate to Ukraine the second tranche of macroeconomic aid in the amount of 5 billion euros.

It should be noted that this tranche is part of the previously agreed aid of 9 billion euros, of which Ukraine has already received 1 billion.

Also, the European Union officially approved the allocation of another tranche of 500 million euros to Ukraine to increase the stability of the Armed Forces.
