Belarusian dictator lukashenko accuses Poland of provoking West to "nuclear actions"
lukashenko said that Poland is provoking the West to "make some moves in terms of nuclear weapons," but it is necessary not to act on it but to sit down at the negotiating table.
Belta reported, citing Lukashenko's interview with the American television company NBC.
"You know, the main initiator who bets on using nuclear weapons… Can't guess who? I'll tell you. Poland. It provokes you—the USA—to make some moves regarding nuclear weapons. Don't fall for this trick. You are a big technological country, and there is no need to dance to the tune of crazy politicians," he said.
Lukashenko added that nuclear weapons should be in warehouses where they are.
"Because as soon as nuclear weapons are launched, let's say, there will be a chain reaction towards Poland. On the other hand, appropriate steps will be taken. Therefore, there is no need to go for it. We need to calm down and sit at the negotiating table," lukashenko said.
As Rubryka reported, Poland is negotiating with the US to participate in the nuclear weapons-sharing program due to growing threats from russia.
Gazeta Polska noted that the nuclear weapons joint use program is part of NATO's nuclear deterrence policy. It allows member states that do not have such weapons to plan their use.
This program doesn't expand the group of countries with nuclear weapons (there are currently three such countries in NATO: the USA, Great Britain, and France, ed.). Only the States provided their weapons to other States within the program's framework.
