The Netherlands announced transfer of anti-aircraft missiles worth € 15 million to Ukraine

The Netherlands provided Ukraine with additional anti-aircraft missiles worth 15 million euros to strengthen the air defense

This is reported by De Telegraaf.

This was stated by the Minister of Defense of the Netherlands, Kajsa Ollongren, on October 12 at the ministerial meeting of the North Atlantic Alliance in Brussels.

The publication noted that the Netherlands is usually reluctant to disclose information about specific military support to Ukraine.

However, this time the government decided to make an exception to show that russia's latest missile attacks were not without consequences.

"The only result that putin will achieve is that we will supply even more because of this kind of attack," Ollongren said.

She did not specify exactly how many missiles would be transferred to Ukraine. They note that they will be used in anti-aircraft installations, which will be provided to Kyiv by other states.

At the same time, the head of the Dutch Ministry of Defense refused to say whether Amsterdam would also transfer heavy weapons to Kyiv, as was the case before.

"We always have to look at which armored howitzers we can put in right now and which ones we need for our own readiness and exercises. We're always looking for a balance," Ollongren said.

As Rubryka wrote, Washington is working on the accelerated delivery of NASAMS air defense systems to Ukraine.

We will remind that Ukraine has already received at least five MARS II rocket launchers from Germany and dozens of Panzerhaubitze 2000 howitzers.

In addition, on October 11, Germany handed Ukraine the long-awaited first IRIS-T air defense system, which is not even in service with the Bundeswehr.

As Rubryka reported, a meeting of the Contact Group on Defense of Ukraine (Ramstein-6) under the auspices of the United States began in Brussels on Wednesday, October 12.

United States Defense Minister Lloyd Austin, opening the meeting in the Ramstein format, said that the Ukrainian Armed Forces changed the dynamics of the war with russia.

Also, on October 12, at the Ramstein format meeting, Germany announced the supply of additional Panzerhaubitze 2000 self-propelled artillery installations and MARS II multiple rocket launcher systems to Ukraine.
