NATO is preparing for "physical response" to nuclear attack by russia — Reuters
A russian nuclear strike would change the course of a full-scale war against Ukraine and, most likely, provoke a "physical response" from Kyiv's allies and – potentially – NATO.
As Reuters reports, a high-ranking NATO official said this on Wednesday on condition of anonymity.
According to him, any use of nuclear weapons by russia will have "unprecedented consequences" and "most likely, will provoke a physical response from many allies and potentially NATO itself."
The representative of the Alliance added that russia is primarily trying to prevent the direct entry of NATO and other states into the war in Ukraine with its nuclear threats.
Presumably, this is the first statement by the Alliance confirming the possibility of armed intervention by the West in the event of russia's use of nuclear weapons.

Earlier it was reported that NATO currently does not observe signs of russia's preparations for the possible use of nuclear weapons.
On September 30, during a speech in the kremlin, the President of the russian federation, vladimir putin, said that the United States had set a precedent by using nuclear weapons in 1945.
