In the north of the country, in the event of another invasion by the russians, they will be repulsed directly at the border
This was announced by the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Ihor Bondarenko, during a briefing at the Military Media Center on October 12, the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The deputy minister noted that Ukraine's strategy in the war is exclusively defensive actions and protection of its territories.
"The logic of Ukraine's actions is necessarily defensive. We have already had facts of a ground invasion from our northern neighbor's territory, the use of its infrastructure, and shelling. We cannot react otherwise.
Losses on the part of the aggressor will be high (in the case of an invasion from the north – ed), and repulsion will be provided directly at the border," Bondarenko emphasized.
The deputy minister added that Ukraine is much better prepared for a possible invasion from the north in October than, for example, in June.
Bondarenko also emphasized that mining is also only a defensive measure.
"Mining is a measure of a defensive nature. We do it so that the enemy understands that there will be retaliatory action. And there will not be a situation like in February when we expected to observe the practice of good neighborly relations but received a different scenario," he said.
Also, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine stated that active actions are being taken to strengthen units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs system on the border with Belarus.
"The Ministry of Internal Affairs determines and constantly carries out the task of promptly clarifying the needs of the relevant divisions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the places of deployment and immediately solving them.
This is the main purpose of our work trips — studying the situation on the ground and clarifying needs," said Ihor Bondarenko.
Currently, the State Border Service is actively involved in the construction of fortifications; structural units are strengthened with a fire component, which significantly supports our defense lines.
We will remind that on October 10, the head of the State Border Committee of Belarus, Anatoliy Lappo, complained that Ukraine was preparing for a possible attack from his country. In particular, it blows up bridges and mines roads.
