British intelligence reports Ukrainian army’s advance by 20 km in Kherson region

The russian army lacks personnel for the defense of the Kherson region

Intelligence emphasizes that Ukrainian units advanced the front line by another 20 km, primarily thanks to the advance along the eastern bank of the Ingulets and the western bank of the Dnipro rivers.

However, as noted by British intelligence, they do not yet threaten the main russian defense positions.

"russian commanders are likely to see the growing threat to the Nova Kakhovka sector as one of their most pressing concerns," the review emphasized.

In particular, the damaged river crossing over the Dnipro in this area remains one of the few routes available for them to resupply forces.

"russia faces a dilemma: withdrawal of combat forces across the Dnipro makes defence of the rest of Kherson Oblast more tenable; but the political imperative will be to remain and defend," British intelligence believes.

It is also noted that russia has involved most of its undermanned airborne troops, which do not have a sufficient number of personnel, in defense of Kherson.

"Therefore, russia currently has few additional, high quality rapidly deployable forces available to stabilize the front: it likely aims to deploy mobilized reservists to the sector," the review emphasized.

Earlier, British intelligence reported that Ukraine continues to develop offensive operations on both the northeastern and southern fronts.
