After North Korea's latest ballistic missile tests, the US sent an aircraft carrier strike group to the shores of the Korean Peninsula

This is reported by CNN.

The publication noted that South Korea held a meeting of the National Security Council on Thursday.

This happened due to the actions of the DPRK, which launched another two short-range ballistic missiles. Such tests have already become the sixth in the last 12 days.

In the communiqué of the President of the United States administration, it was emphasized that there would be a decisive response to the provocations.

It shows the movement of the US aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan and its strike group into the Sea of Japan.

South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff announced on Wednesday that the US aircraft carrier strike group would move to the Sea of Japan. This move should demonstrate the determination of South Korea and the US to respond to any provocations or threats from Pyongyang.

Last month, the strike group participated in joint US-Korea-Japan anti-submarine warfare exercises in international waters.

We will remind that on Tuesday, October 4, the DPRK launched a ballistic missile over Japan for the first time since 2017, which led to an air alert in the country and a temporary suspension of train traffic in northern Japan. The rocket traveled about 4,500 kilometers.

After that, a group of fighters from South Korea and the United States carried out a joint training sortie, during which a Korean F-15K launched two JDAM bombs.

"Through the joint flight of the strike group and targeted air strikes exercises, South Korea and the United States demonstrated their readiness to respond decisively to any threats from the DPRK and their ability to conduct targeted strikes," the Joint Chiefs of Staff said.
