Iran underlines its support for Ukraine's territorial integrity

Iran stresses the need to observe the territorial integrity of countries as a fundamental norm of international law and respect the principles and goals of the UN Charter.

Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanaani said this at a briefing, commenting on the country's position on pseudo-referendums and russia's attempt to annex Ukrainian territories, IRNA reports.

According to Kanaani, Iran supports "any efforts aimed at a peaceful settlement of the Ukrainian conflict, and has always declared its readiness to help achieve this."

"The Islamic Republic of Iran, based on its basic principles, emphasizes the need for full observance of the territorial integrity of countries as a basic norm of international law and respect for the principles and goals of the UN Charter," said the spokesman of Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs representative added that Iran opposes any "provocative actions that could disrupt the course of peace, stability, and tranquility."

As reported, russian troops in the south of Ukraine intensified air attacks using Iranian Shahid-136 kamikaze drones.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine informed the temporary charge d'affaires of Iran in Ukraine about the decision to deprive the ambassador of Iran in Ukraine of accreditation and to significantly reduce the number of diplomatic personnel of the embassy due to the facts of the use of Iranian-made weapons by the Russian troops.

Iran is one of the few allies of russia that helps it in the war against Ukraine. However, Iran denies supplying russia with drones.
