US prepares $1B military aid package for Ukraine amid sham referenda

The United States is preparing a new military aid package worth 1.1 billion dollars, which will help Ukraine stand against russia amid the so-called "referendums" held by the russian federation.

Reuters reports, citing US officials, that this aid package will be announced shortly.

"It is expected to use funds from the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative (USAI) appropriated by Congress to allow the Biden administration to procure weapons from industry rather than from existing US weapons stocks," Reuters emphasizes.

The package will include:

• HIMARS launcher systems, 
• accompanying munitions, 
• various types of counter-drone systems and radar systems, 
• spares,
• training and technical support.

We will remind you that Washington is preparing new sanctions against russia if Moscow annexes the occupied territories after the results of the sham referendums are announced.

In addition,  the US Congress party representatives, during the negotiations on Monday, agreed to provide almost 12 billion dollars in aid for Ukraine in the budget for the next fiscal year of 2023 (starting on October 1).

The bill includes an assistance package for Ukraine in its fight against russian troops.

The funds include:

• $3 billion for military assistance, including training, equipment, armaments, and logistical support;
• $1.5 billion to replenish stocks of US equipment provided to Ukraine or foreign countries that have provided support;
• $2.8 billion for continued military, intelligence, and other defense support.
