Germany to transfer offensive military equipment to Ukraine: what is known

Germany has already prepared a dozen bridge-laying machines for shipment to Ukraine

Rubryka informs about this, referring to the website of the government of the Federal Republic of Germany.

The document also mentions preparations for the shipment of almost a hundred heavy-duty trailers to Ukraine.

Thus, Germany is preparing to send:

  • 10 bridge systems
  • 3 medium bridge systems
  • 90 heavy-duty trailers.

Also, the Germans have already handed over to the Armed Forces:

  • six Maschinengewehr 3 (MG3) machine guns for armored repair and evacuation vehicles
  • ammunition for 30,000 40 mm grenades.

"For security reasons, the federal government is refraining from providing detailed information about the methods and dates of transportation until the time of transfer," the statement said.

It should be recalled that earlier it was reported that at the plenary session of the Bundestag, the vote on the proposal for the immediate transfer of German Leopard tanks to the Ukrainian army was again postponed, and the draft document was submitted to the committees for consideration.

Later, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz explained that Germany was not sending tanks to Ukraine because it feared an escalation of the conflict between russia and NATO.

It should be noted that the United States plans to consider a new military aid package for Ukraine worth more than $1 billion.

In addition, during the negotiations on Monday, representatives of the parties of the US Congress agreed to provide almost 12 billion dollars in aid for Ukraine in the budget for the next 2023 fiscal year (starting on October 1).
