Kharkiv region’s critical logistical hub liberated in Ukraine’s counteroffensive

The Armed Forces of Ukraine recaptured the crucial logistics hub Kupiansk-Vuzlovyi in the Kharkiv region from the russian occupiers.

Oleh Sinehubov, the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military-Civil Administration, announced this on the air of the national telethon.

The invaders desperately held on to the village of Kupiansk-Vuzlovyi. The Ukrainian forces needed to fight hard to free it.

The railway station of the same name is located on the territory of the Kupiansk-Vuzlovyi settlement; it is a large railway hub that provides rail connections with Kharkiv, Valuiky, Sviatohirsk, Belgorod, Popasna, Kupiansk-Pivdennyi stations.

The invaders actively used this railway junction to transfer russia's military equipment, weapons, and manpower from russia's Belgorod Oblast to the east of Ukraine.

Now, the previous logistics have been destroyed, and as a result, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have more opportunities to continue the counteroffensive in the Luhansk region.

As the head of the region reported, this critical logistics hub for russians is currently under "almost complete" control of Ukraine.

"The russians had several important directions; this is Izium, the so-called 'Izium Height' or the path through which the enemy directed their military equipment on the territory of Luhansk and Donetsk regions, where they strengthened their presence.

And, of course, Kupiansk-Vuzlovyi is one of the largest railway logistics junctions in the territory of the Kharkiv region, which was occupied from the beginning of the full-scale war and was quite vigorously defended and held by the enemy.

"Thanks to the successful military operation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, it has now been repelled and is, in fact, fully controlled," Sinehubov said.

Sinehubov also noted that until now, about 6% of the territory of the Kharkiv region remained under russian occupation. However, after the recent successes of Ukraine's forces, the number reduced "a little."

As previously reported, Ukrainian soldiers are also having success in the Donetsk region. The other day it became known that the Ukrainian Armed Forces liberated Yatskivka from the occupiers and regained control over the positions near Bakhmut.
