Zelensky formed working group on creation of international tribunal

President Volodymyr Zelensky has formed a working group headed by the head of his Office, Andriy Yermak, which will deal with creating a special international tribunal to bring to justice those guilty of aggression against Ukraine.

The corresponding decree No. 661/2022 is published on President's website.

"To form a working group to elaborate the issue of creating a special international tribunal for the crime of aggression against Ukraine," the document reads.

It is noted that the decision was made "in order to ensure a proper international investigation and prosecution for the crime of aggression against Ukraine, to develop and prepare proposals for the creation of a special international tribunal."

The OPU's head, Andriy Yermak, was appointed the head of the working group, and the deputy head of the OP, Andriy Smirnov, was appointed as the deputy and coordinator.

The group also included Ministers of Foreign Affairs Dmytro Kuleba, Justice Denys Malyuska, Deputy Head of the OP Andriy Sybiga, Prosecutor General Andriy Kostin, Ambassador with Special Assignments of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Anton Korinevych, Chief Consultant of the Department of Organizational Work of the Office of the Head of the OP Oleg Havrysh, Director of the International Law Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Oksana Zolotaryova, general director of the Directorate for Foreign Policy and Strategic Partnership of the OP Oleksandr Karasevich, people's deputies Oleksandr Kachura, Denys Maslov, Maria Mezentseva, Oleksandra Ustinova and Olena Khomenko, head of the Office of the OP head Olena Kovalska.

The President instructed the working group to develop and make proposals regarding the creation of a special international tribunal regarding the crime of aggression against Ukraine.

Earlier, Ukraine took the initiative to create a Special Tribunal, which will prosecute members of the russian Security Council for the crime of aggression against our state.

The creation of such a tribunal was supported by the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, the European Parliament, the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, and the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly.
