Great Britain is ready to provide financial support to Ukraine for the purchase of gas
Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal announced this on Telegram after meeting with British Prime Minister Liz Truss.
He also noted that Britain is ready to promote the involvement of British business in developing the Ukrainian gas production sector.
"I am glad to meet the Prime Minister of Great Britain, Liz Truss, in New York. We continue to develop our strategic partnership:
- discussed the supply of weapons,
- preparation for the heating season,
- and restoration of Ukraine.
In particular, Great Britain is ready to provide financial support to Ukraine for the purchase of gas and to promote the involvement of British business in the development of the Ukrainian gas production sphere," Shmyhal wrote.
The Prime Minister also emphasized that during the meeting, they agreed to create a working group to prepare for the Conference on the Restoration of Ukraine, which will be held next year in Great Britain.
"We thank our British friends for their political support and practical help," he summed up.
"We appreciate Great Britain's readiness to provide our country with the next tranche of $500 million through the World Bank for the purchase of gas.
We are also interested in involving British businesses in developing gas production in Ukraine.
We expect that the government of Great Britain will make the necessary decisions for insuring British business in Ukraine against military risks," the Government Portal quotes Shmyhal.
