President of Ukraine hopes the world will not allow putin to press nuclear button

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky stated this in an interview with the television service of the German media outlet Bild.
"I don't believe that he will use it… I don't believe that the world will allow the use of nuclear weapons… that its society will allow it," the Ukrainian leader said, but admitted that risks cannot be ruled out at all, no one can look inside this person's head, and Putin will definitely continue to threaten the use of nuclear weapons.
The President expressed his regret that there are countries that doubt putin's real goals and believe when he says he is ready for negotiations, while Ukraine, they say, does not want to.
"We need to take off our rose-colored glasses," Zelensky urged, noting that all of putin's latest steps confirm that "he does not want a diplomatic solution."
You can't satisfy putin's whims and allow yourself to be blackmailed, you can't compromise on fundamental issues, otherwise, putin will continue to do it, the Ukrainian President said.
Ukraine, according to its leader, will be ready to sit down at the negotiating table with putin when russia leaves its territory. Still, for now, there are fewer and fewer such opportunities. Currently, one can only speak with the putin regime from a position of strength.
Zelensky did not make predictions about how long the war will last but noted that many things could shorten its time. In particular, it depends on the West, on staying united, and on russia. russia must abandon its current philosophy. The Ukrainian President does not associate the end of the war with the change of regime in the russian federation.
The problem, according to Zelensky, "is not in people, but in the regime's philosophy: if they don't change their philosophy, it doesn't matter who will come after putin." russians do not know Ukraine at all; they do not understand it, the historical paths of the two countries have completely diverged, and this is russia's fault, Zelensky added.
He noted that the successes of the Ukrainian army forced putin to mobilize, but he is doing it "very timidly," cautiously. This shows that the russian federation has a problem with personnel officers, and putin sees that his soldiers are fleeing.
Zelensky added that, in his opinion, putin wanted to mobilize more than 300,000, "he wants an army of one million, ….. he wants to drown Ukraine in blood, but also the blood of his own soldiers." And he regretted that russians still do not see that their leader does not care how many of his compatriots die.
Zelensky once again called on Germany to increase supplies of military equipment and not to look at what other partners are doing or not doing, to take responsibility for themselves, not forgetting that Ukraine is fighting for common values. He admitted that there is no such single weapon thanks to which Ukraine will win the war; that tanks, which are talked about a lot, will not put an end to this war, but armored vehicles will help save many lives of Ukrainians.
"For us, it is about people surviving." These weapons are essential to us because human lives are essential to us," he emphasized.
Volodymyr Zelensky stated that he did not watch putin's video speech; such videos are not his "favorite videos," but he assured that he had all the necessary information.
