Ukraine lost up to 10 million tons of potential harvest in 2022 due to the occupation of territories by russia.

This was stated by the First Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Taras Vysotskyi during a press conference, Ukrinform reports.

"We estimated that it would have been possible to collect about 10 million tons from the areas in the occupied territories. This harvest has different fates: somewhere it is stolen, somewhere it is burned," he said.

In addition, according to Vysotskyi, thanks to the information collected through satellites, it is known precisely about the loss of 500 thousand tons of grain.

The deputy minister emphasized that the final losses in the Ukrainian agricultural sector will be calculated only after the de-occupation of the territories.

We will remind that as part of the "grain initiative" on Thursday, September 15, the departure of 11 vessels from the ports of "Odesa," "Chornomorsk," and "Pivdenny" was planned.

As of September 5, more than 2 million tons were exported from Ukraine as part of the Black Sea grain initiative.

Ukraine aims to export 3 million tons of agricultural products per month only from the port of Greater Odesa through and extend the initiative to the port of Mykolaiv.

As part of the "grain corridor" work, the export of any other goods, except agricultural products, is currently not planned.
