President Volodymyr Zelensky awarded the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen with the Order of Prince Yaroslav the Wise, 1st degree.

Rubryka reports, referring to the Twitter of the head of the European Commission.

Ursula von der Leyen was awarded the order during her visit to Kyiv. The European politician thanked the President of Ukraine for the award.

"Dear Volodymyr, I sincerely thank you for awarding the Order of Yaroslav the Wise 1st degree. It is a great honor.

I accept it on behalf of all EU citizens. And as a symbol of our strong connection," von der Leyen said.

As Rubryka reported, today, September 15, she arrived in the capital of Ukraine.

"So much has changed. Ukraine is now a candidate for joining the EU.

I will discuss with Volodymyr Zelensky and Denys Shmyhal how to continue to bring our economies and people together as Ukraine moves towards accession," said Ursula von der Leyen.

On September 14, Ursula von der Leyen delivered her annual State of the Union address to the European Parliament. The top point in the speech was the fight against the challenges created by Putin's regime.

She said that Putin would lose his war of aggression, and Ukraine and Europe would win.

She also said that the European Union would continue to support Ukraine and strengthen sanctions against the Russian Federation, which has already caused enormous damage.

Also, in her speech, the President of the European Commission announced the allocation of 100 million euros for the restoration of bombed schools in Ukraine and announced a visit to Kyiv on Thursday.

As Rubryka reported, Olena Zelenska also arrived in Strasbourg. For the first time, a representative of Ukraine was invited to a report on the EU's State.
