Zelensky visits Izium, recently liberated in counteroffensive

During a working trip to the Kharkiv region, President Volodymyr Zelensky took part in the ceremony of raising the State Flag of Ukraine in the city of Izium

The ceremony took place in the city's central square in the presence of defenders of Ukraine. The National Anthem of Ukraine was played during the raising of the flag.
The president thanked the servicemen for liberating Ukrainian lands from the enemy.
"I want to thank you for preserving our people, our hearts, children, and future," Volodymyr Zelensky said.
The head of state wished the servicemen health and success.
"The last few months have been tough for you. That's why I'm asking you: take care of yourself because you are the most valuable thing we have," the president said.
The president emphasized that no aggressor would be able to conquer the hearts of Ukrainians.
"Probably, it is possible to temporarily occupy the territories of our state. But it is impossible to occupy our people, the Ukrainian people," Volodymyr Zelensky stressed.
The head of state noted that today when defenders are liberating Ukrainian lands from invaders, the flag of Ukraine acquires special significance.
"Earlier, when we looked up, we were always looking for the blue sky, the sun. And today, we, and especially the people in the temporarily occupied territories, looking up, are looking for only one thing, the flag of our state.
This means that the heroes are here. This means that the enemy is gone. He ran away," Volodymyr Zelensky said.
Those present honored the memory of defenders who gave their lives for Ukraine with a moment of silence.
The head of state had a brief conversation with Izium Mayor Valerii Marchenko regarding the situation in the settlement.
As Rubryka reported, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, arrived in the liberated Izium.
The ceremony was attended by Deputy Minister of Defense Hanna Maliar, representatives of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and other military units that liberated the city from the russian invaders a few days ago.
It should be noted that on September 11, soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) controlled the center of the city of Izium (Kharkiv region) and already raised Ukrainian flags over the building of the city council.
According to ISW, Ukraine liberated more of its territories in a few days than russia had captured since April.
In addition, as Deputy Minister of Defense Maliar reported, the Ukrainian military liberated 300 settlements in the Kharkiv region.
