Germany hands Ukraine several more Gepard self-propelled guns and 65 refrigerators

Over the past week, Germany has transferred four more Gepard anti-aircraft self-propelled artillery systems to Ukraine, bringing their total to 24.

The German government's statement published on Tuesday reports.

Another six Gepard units are being prepared for shipment to Ukraine.

The Gepard anti-aircraft self-propelled artillery can fire 35 mm shells at a rate of up to 1,000 rounds per minute. In conditions, it fires in short bursts adapted to the target. Previously, the system's manufacturer trained Ukrainian soldiers in Germany on how to use the systems.

In addition, 65 refrigerators for medical supplies were transferred in addition to the two previously transferred.

In early September, the German government refused to supply Ukraine with Dingo armored cars, of which the Bundeswehr has more than 500 units. Last week, Bild cited a secret document circulating in the German Ministry of Defense: "Vehicles of the Dingo type are used for training and participation in exercises and operations. A possible transfer was already considered at an early stage of the war in Ukraine but was rejected due to needs."

Recently, the leaders of Germany, the United States, several other countries, and NATO discussed further support for Ukraine.

Germany's spokesperson said, "The federal chancellor agreed with European and transatlantic partners to continue financial, economic and military support to Ukraine in connection with the russian war of aggression and to effectively reduce the consequences of russian aggression, for example, concerning world food supplies and energy prices, thanks to joint efforts together with the meeting of international partners."

Germany's military aid to Ukraine is estimated at $1.2 billion.
