This was reported on Twitter by Ksenia Torstrem, deputy of St. Petersburg's Semenivskyi district, who is collecting signatures.
"We, the municipal deputies of russia, believe that the actions of president vladimir putin harm the future of russia and its citizens. We demand the resignation of vladimir putin from the post of president of russia!" the statement reads.
Two dozen deputies signed the document.
As previously reported, the council of deputies of moscow's "Lomonosivskyi" municipal district demanded the russian president's resignation.
Deputies of the Smolninsk municipal entity of st. petersburg called on the State Duma of the russian federation to bring charges of treason against vladimir putin to remove him from office because of the war in Ukraine.
Protocols on "discrediting" the russian army were drawn up on them.
