It was stated by the Organization's Deputy Secretary General for Political Affairs, Rosemary Di Carlo, at a meeting of the UN Security Council on Wednesday.
"In the coming days, the investigative mission (which is due to arrive) in Olenivka will examine the incident on July 29, in which 53 Ukrainian prisoners of war were killed, and another 75 to 130 were injured," she said.
"The head of the mission, General Carlos Alberto de Santos Cruz, is traveling with a team of senior officials and experts. The mission must carry out its task without any obstacles, get full access to people, places, and evidence," the UN representative added.
Di Carlo also thanked Ukraine and russia "for their constructive approach and their preparation for this mission" and added that the UN counted on their continued support.

It included a retired Brazilian police lieutenant general, an Icelandic diplomat, and a Nigerien police officer.
