Biden will hold video summit with allies to discuss further support for Ukraine — Bloomberg

US President Joe Biden will hold a video conference with allies, where he plans to discuss the next steps to support Ukraine in the war with russia

The Bloomberg agency reported it with reference to sources.

As noted, Biden will lead the video meeting, which should occur late Thursday morning Washington time.

Bloomberg reported that the Group of Seven (G7) leaders, NATO, and the European Union would be present at the meeting. Who else will join the conversation is not reported.

The agency points out that a similar video format was used in the early months of the war, and Biden is reviving it as the seven-month mark of hostilities approaches.

As the media outlet emphasizes, Biden sought to maintain unity in support of Ukraine. His conversation with the leaders comes in a week when the government changed in Great Britain, and Liz Truss became the prime minister.

By the way, she positions herself as a hawk in the confrontation with russia.

The video conference will take place against the background of Ukraine's continued offensive against russian troops and the preparation of the President of the russian federation for a meeting with the Chinese leader for the first time since the beginning of the war in February.

We will remind that the meeting of the group created by Western countries in the so-called "Ramstein" format will take place on September 8 in Germany at the American air base Ramstein.

There is an expectation that on Thursday, the Pentagon will announce the delivery of a new batch of weapons worth $675 million to Ukraine.

It should be noted that on September 2, the American President appealed to Congress to allocate $13.7 billion for Ukraine's emergency needs.
