Italian authorities have imposed administrative arrest on 11 real estate units in Sardinia belonging to russian oligarch Moshe Kantor

The Moscow Times writes about it.

It is noted that the 68-year-old Kantor was included in the sanctions lists of the EU and Great Britain in April as a person close to russian president putin.

He was the main owner of the world's largest producer of mineral fertilizers, Akron; Forbes estimates his fortune at $4.6 billion. After the introduction of sanctions, Kantor transferred his share to the management department.

It was in connection with the sanctions that the Italian authorities seized 11 villas in Porto Rotondo registered directly to Kantor or connected to him.

The publication also informs that during the notification of measures to seize the villas, the law enforcement officers drew attention to the presence of Ukrainian citizens in one of the residences.

These were people who left their country because of the russian invasion. The publication notes that Kantor's wife's Ukrainian origin can explain the situation.

In 2013, the then president of Italy, Giorgio Napolitano, awarded Kantor with the title Knight of the Grand Cross of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic.
