Ukrposhta to launch charity Patron the Dog stamp to raise money for demining machine
Director General of "Ukrposhta" Ihor Smelyansky announced the release of the new "Pes Patron" stamp. According to him, this will be the first charity stamp in Ukraine.
Smelyansky stated this on Facebook.
- What is the problem? According to the First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Yevhen Yenin, since the beginning of the full-scale war, the pyrotechnic units of the State Emergency Service have already discovered, removed, and neutralized more than 180,000 explosive objects. As of mid-August, a fifth of Ukraine's territory is contaminated with unexploded ordnance. Therefore, it requires a lot of technical means.
- What is the solution? On September 1, "Ukrposhta" issues the "Pes Patron" stamp. The sheet includes eight stamps depicting Patron's life, made on self-adhesive paper. Circulation will be 1 million copies. Everyone who buys a stamp will become a participant in a charity project.
- How does it work? For the sale of the stamps, they plan to raise more than 1 million euros for a demining machine that will help to quickly "clear" large areas. In addition, part of the funds is planned to be transferred to animal shelters.
"Patron the dog needs help with both technical means and four-legged helpers. That is why the rest of the donations will support animal shelters across the country," Ihor Smelyansky wrote.
