Polish president calls Zelensky political colleague and friend

Polish President Andrzej Duda said that his Ukrainian colleague Volodymyr Zelensky is a highly responsible person and a true leader of his country.

Duda said this in an interview with ZET radio, calling Zelensky his political colleague and friend.

"We have a political connection as friends and colleagues. On my part, there is mutual understanding and respect for Volodymyr Zelensky. I am doing my best to support him, as I believe that he is an honest person who responsibly fulfills the task assigned to him by society in democratic elections," Duda said.

As he noted, even though Zelensky had never been involved in politics before his presidency, he turned out to be a natural leader of the state.

"I also understood that he was never involved in politics, but he turned out to be an extremely responsible person and a true leader of the state and the people, not afraid to risk his own life to fulfill his presidential obligations," the Polish leader emphasized, adding that the President of Ukraine is "an earnest person who deserves respect."

Duda said he was trying to support Zelensky in two directions: "First, regarding the protection of Ukraine, and second, in all the reforms that, I hope, he will implement in Ukraine in the future."

According to him, Ukraine needs many complex reforms to cope with the "potent influence of the oligarchs."

"I see how Zelensky is very wisely and successfully looking for a solution," the President of the Republic of Poland stated.
