Ukrainian farmers harvest 25.3M tonnes of grain
As of August 25, 2022, Ukrainian agricultural producers harvested 25.3 million tonnes of grain.
The relevant statement was made by the Ukrainian Agrarian Policy and Food Ministry.
In particular, Ukrainian farmers have already threshed 18.8 million tonnes of wheat from 4.6 million hectares (98% of the projected area) with a yielding capacity of 40.8 quintals per hectare and 5.5 million tonnes of barley from 1.6 million hectares (99%) with a yielding capacity of 34.6 quintals per hectare.
A total of 246.1 thousand tonnes of peas was harvested from 108.8 thousand hectares (98%) with a yielding capacity of 22.6 quintals per hectare, 2.0 thousand tonnes of buckwheat from 1.6 thousand hectares (1%) with a yielding capacity of 13.2 quintals per hectare and 1 thousand tonnes of millet from 4.1 thousand hectares (9%) with a yielding capacity of 21.9 quintals per hectare.
In general, grain and leguminous crops have already been fully harvested from 6.6 million hectares (59%) with a yielding capacity of 38.4 quintals per hectare.
The highest yielding capacity of grain and leguminous crops was recorded in Khmelnytskyi Region (62.3 quintals per hectare). In terms of the yield of grain (over 2 million tonnes), the top three leaders were Dnipropetrovsk Region, Kirovohrad Region and Odesa Region.
In addition, Ukrainian farmers have already gathered 18.8 thousand tonnes of sunflower seeds from 23.5 thousand hectares (1%) with a yielding capacity of 8.0 quintals per hectare and 3.1 million tonnes of rapeseed from 1.085 million hectares (99%) with a yielding capacity of 28.4 quintals per hectare.
A reminder that Ukraine's gross yield of grain and oilseed crops is expected to reach 65-67 million tonnes this year, according to the Ukrainian Agrarian Policy and Food Ministry.
