Johnson announced next 54 million pounds aid package to Ukraine

During his visit to Kyiv, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced the next £54 million aid package, which includes unmanned surveillance systems and anti-tank munitions.

The aid package includes, in particular, 850 hand-held Black Hornet micro-drones, which are specially designed for use in cities and villages and to detect enemy forces' approach.

The government portal highlights that military personnel can be trained to fly drones smaller than a mobile phone in less than 20 minutes. Each drone transmits real-time video and still images so that forces on the ground can safely defend urban areas.

"This package of unmanned aerial systems will be a step in the development of Ukraine's current capabilities, improving their long-range surveillance and defensive targeting capabilities," the report said.

The government said that the military aid package comes as Britain is also preparing to provide Ukraine with vehicles to search for russian mines in the waters off its coast. In the coming weeks, Ukrainian personnel will be trained to use them in British waters.

Britain continues to expand the training of the Ukrainian military, with eight countries already joining the main training programs that train civilians to become soldiers. The British government says the UK has provided more than £2.3 billion in military and financial aid to Ukraine since the beginning of the invasion in February.
