Biden announced $3 billion military aid package to Ukraine on occasion of Independence Day

On Ukraine's Independence Day, the United States announced an additional $2.98 billion military aid package for the Ukrainian Armed Forces

"The United States of America is committed to supporting the people of Ukraine as they continue the fight to defend their sovereignty.

As part of that commitment, I am proud to announce our biggest tranche of security assistance to date: approximately $2.98 billion of weapons and equipment to be provided through the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative," the US president said in a statement.

Biden noted that these funds would allow Ukraine to receive:

  • air defense systems,
  • artillery systems and munitions,
  • counter-unmanned aerial systems
  • radars to ensure it can continue to defend itself over the long term.

As Rubryka reported, according to the Minister of Finance of Ukraine, Serhiy Marchenko, Ukraine will receive $3 billion from the United States to the state budget in the form of a non-refundable grant on Independence Day.

As Rubryka reported, the United States is preparing to announce an additional package of military aid in the amount of three billion dollars on Wednesday, August 24, when Ukraine celebrates Independence Day.

It will be aimed at training and equipping Ukrainian forces.

We will remind, on August 19, the USA announced a new military aid package for Ukraine.

US President Joe Biden signed a decree on allocating a new package of military aid to Ukraine in the amount of 755 million dollars.

Total US military aid to Ukraine since the February 24 invasion of Russia has reached $10.6 billion to date.
