It was stated by the President of Poland, Andrzej Duda, at a meeting in Kyiv with the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, Rubryka reports.
"I want to express great respect to the Ukrainian people for their extraordinary heroism towards their Motherland.
I want them to be sure of the strong support of Poland, that the Poles are with them and will support them until the last day of the fight," the president's office posted on Twitter.
Duda also emphasized that he discussed with Zelensky cooperation in the military and humanitarian spheres and participation in the reconstruction of Ukraine.
The President of Poland congratulated on Flag Day and Independence Day of Ukraine.
"For us Poles and all Baltic residents, this is also an important anniversary – the anniversary of the Ribbentrop-Molotov Pact, under which Poland and other countries were attacked.
Poland then lost its statehood. The fact that I am here today is also symbolic for us. For us, this is also a day of protest against the war, the revival of russian imperialism," he said.
Duda also emphasized that today Ukraine defends its independence, defends the integrity of its state from russian aggression, which began not on February 24, but in 2014.
"Ukraine can count on Poland. I believe that Ukraine will not only defend itself but also win, regain all its lands and restore itself thanks to the support of Poland and all honest nations," the Polish president said.
Earlier, President Volodymyr Zelensky said that russia would receive a powerful response in the event of an increase in the number of shelling on August 23-24.
As Rubryka reported, Polish President Andrzej Duda arrived in Kyiv on August 23 to participate in the summit of the Crimea Platform.
We will remind you that today, August 23, the second summit of the Crimea Platform started.
Sixty leaders of different countries will attend the second summit of the Crimean Platform.
It should be noted that NATO Secretary-General Stoltenberg confirmed his participation in the summit.
This time, the summit is being held remotely due to the full-scale war in Ukraine.
Earlier, three G7 leaders – German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, and Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida – confirmed their participation in the Crimean Platform online summit.
