Turkish president wants to organize meeting between Zelensky and putin

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan called the organization of a meeting between the presidents of Ukraine and russia, Volodymyr Zelensky and vladimir putin, a goal of Ankara.

Erdoğan stated this during the address to the nation, Hurriyet reports.

"Our goal is to organize a meeting between putin and Zelensky shortly to resolve the crisis," Erdoğan said.

He also recalled signing the "grain agreement" on exporting agricultural products from Ukraine and expressed hope that the war would be settled similarly.

Earlier, Rubryka reported that Erdoğan hopes the war will finally end at the negotiating table.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said at a press conference following his visit to Ukraine that Turkey is ready to provide all the necessary support to resume negotiations on ending the war, particularly in Istanbul.

"We indicated the international community's support for restoring the diplomatic process. I hope that the war will finally be over at the negotiating table. Zelensky and Guterres agree with this. The whole point is to determine the shortest and fairest way to the negotiating table," Erdoğan said.

According to him, negotiations in Istanbul can be resumed: "I believe the negotiations can be resumed on the basis formed in Istanbul in March. We are ready to play the role of a mediator again to provide all kinds of support to achieve this goal," Erdoğan said.
