First shelter appeared at a transport stop in Kharkiv
On August 19, a shelter for public transport passengers was installed near one of the stops in Kharkiv.
Suspilne reports it.
The shelter has 12 seats and a screen with CCTV cameras.
On the walls of the stop, there will be a mural by Yaroslav Yefremov with the inscription "Kharkiv is a hero city."
"We are making a unique mural at the bomb shelter stop. It is the first example within the project of safe stops for residents of Kharkiv and other cities of Ukraine. We chose a concept with monuments and elements of Kharkiv's architecture in order to emphasize the values of the city itself," the artist said.
Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov announced that reinforced concrete shelters would be built in Kharkiv, where it would be possible to hide and wait during an air raid siren in the event of a threat of artillery fire. Safe stops are planned to be installed in 25 places in Kharkiv. About 50 people will be able to stay there.
In Chuhuiv, the Kharkiv region, they have already started setting up shelters in places of people's mass gatherings in the city center.
