FC Polissia President and players support Oleksandr Usyk, also club's forward, before his fight

The Zhytomyr region's football team Polissia and the club president, Hennadii Butkevych, shared a video to support Oleksandr Usyk on the eve of the major boxing match of the year. On August 20, Oleksandr will fight Anthony Joshua in Jeddah (Saudi Arabia). It is a rematch with the WBA, IBF, WBO, and IBO heavyweight titles and the status of the most influential boxer in the world at stake.

In the video, the Polissia players conveyed words of support and congratulated their teammate Oleksandr Usyk, who also plays for the football club. In particular, at the beginning of February, the boxer made his debut as a forward of FC Polissia: the fighter took part in the winning match of the Winter Cup against Veres. "A childhood dream came true," Oleksandr commented on his participation in the game.

In a video in support of Usyk, the football players expressed admiration for the strength and endurance of their colleague. They admitted that they're proud to have the opportunity to go out on the same field with him because Oleksandr is a legend and an example for them.

FC Polissia president, businessman, and philanthropist Hennadii Butkevych personally added words of support: "I'm proud to know you. You're one of the best athletes in the world. In this difficult time for our country, you found the strength to give revenge to such a great boxer as Joshua. The Polissia team and the entire Ukrainian people are rooting for you! Glory to Ukraine!"

We remind you that the broadcast of the boxing evening in Ukraine will be free. Fundraising for the needs of the Ukrainain Armed Forces will be held throughout the entire broadcast of the evening. Oleksandr Usyk and his partner aim to raise $1 million, which will be used to purchase 100 cars for Ukraine's defenders. If the donations exceed 1 million dollars, part of the funds will be spent on food kits given to IDPs and people in need.
