It was discussed during a telephone conversation between the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emine Japarova, and the State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Romania, Iulian Fota, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reports.
"Emine Japarova welcomed Romania's decision to participate at the highest level in the online summit of the International Crimea Platform on August 23," the Foreign Ministry reported.
She noted that the Summit's purpose is to stimulate dialogue and initiate specific actions to strengthen the international Crimea platform against the background of the full-scale invasion of the russian federation.
The first deputy minister emphasized that Romania is Ukraine's strategic partner in the Black Sea region, and the challenges associated with russia's aggression against Ukraine undermine the existing international security system based on international law.
"Regional security issues are indivisible, and threats are common to both states," Japarova said.
During the conversation, the parties also discussed practical aspects of cooperation between Ukraine and Romania, in particular, on the security track of the international Crimea platform.
The First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs thanked her Romanian colleague for diplomatic support and assistance in overcoming the humanitarian consequences of russian aggression.

The Crimea Platform is a consultation and communication format launched by the President of Ukraine in August 2021 to structure all issues related to the peninsula. This format aims to develop practical approaches to draw attention to the situation in Crimea and discuss the possibilities of its return to Ukraine.
The second summit of the Crimea Platform will be held on August 23, 2022, online.
