President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan arrived in Lviv

It was reported by the Turkish state agency Anadolu.

As noted in the publication, the Turkish Head of State flew to the Polish city of Rzeszów, and from there, he headed to Lviv by land transport.

It is planned to hold talks between Erdogan and President Volodymyr Zelensky face-to-face.

Then there will be a tripartite meeting between the presidents of Ukraine and Turkey and UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres.

Based on the results of the consultations, a joint press conference of the leaders of Turkey, Ukraine, and the UN Secretary-General will be organized.

On the agenda of the meeting in Lviv with President Volodymyr Zelensky on Thursday are the steps that must be taken to improve the functionality of the grain corridor and resolve the war through diplomatic means.

Among other issues that are planned to be discussed at the meeting:

  • Turkey's mediation in the exchange of prisoners between russia and Ukraine,
  • the return to Turkey of two Turkish Air Force A440M aircraft in Ukraine before the war and remain here.

We will remind that President Erdogan last visited Ukraine on February 3, 2022, shortly before the start of russian-Ukrainian war started.

As Rubryka reported, on August 17, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres arrived in Lviv, where he will meet with the presidents of Ukraine and Turkey.

During the meeting with Zelensky, Guterres will discuss the situation at the Zaporizhzhia NPP, as well as the search for a political solution to end the war with russia.

Earlier, the UN said that they could help the IAEA's visit to Zaporizhzhia from Kyiv.

However, russia insists that any mission that will pass through Ukraine is too dangerous. On August 18, it became known that the Director General of the IAEA would personally lead the mission to the Zaporizhzhia NPP.
