The Hague court to announce flight MH17 verdict on November 17

The Hague court hearing the case regarding the downed flight MH17 over Donetsk in July 2014 will announce the verdict on November 17, 2022.

It is reported by RTL Nieuws.

The court stated that the announcement of the verdict would last about one and a half hours.

On September 22, there will be another hearing in the case, but it will be a formality and last no more than five minutes.

At the same time, the court emphasized that there remained a possibility, however small, that something important for the investigation may happen, which would result in changing the date of the verdict.

Passenger Boeing-777 of Malaysia Airlines, carrying out flight MH17 from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur, crashed in the temporarily occupied part of the Donetsk region on July 17, 2014. There were 283 passengers and 15 crew members on board the plane, and all died.

The international investigative team concluded that the plane was shot down from the Buk anti-aircraft missile complex, which belongs to the 53rd anti-aircraft missile brigade of the russian Armed Forces, stationed in Kursk.

On June 19, 2019, the investigative team named four suspects believed to be involved in the transportation and combat use of the Buk air defense system. Among them is a former FSB officer, former "Minister of Defense" of the so-called "DPR" Igor Girkin (Strelkov), General, and at the time of the downing of the plane, Colonel of the General Staff of the russian Armed Forces, head of the "DPR" Serhii Dubinsky, Lieutenant Colonel Oleg Pulatov (all – citizens of the russian federation), Ukrainian citizen Leonid Kharchenko, who fought on the side of the "DPR."

In March 2020, the District Court of The Hague began hearing the case of the MH17 plane crash.
