Ukraine's government proposes parliament cancel preferential tax rates for fuel
The Cabinet of Ministers has tabled in the Verkhovna Rada a bill on the abolition of preferential tax rates for fuel.
Yaroslav Zhelezniak, first deputy head of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Finance, Tax and Customs Policy, wrote this on Telegram.
The text of the bill has yet to be published but, according to Zhelezniak, the document will provide for the return of the excise tax for all types of fuel without exception.
"It is not yet clear whether the final text envisages the return of VAT on fuel to 20% (now it is 7%)," Zhelezniak said.
The law temporarily canceling the excise tax on fuel and reducing the VAT rate from 20% to 7% for the period of martial law came into force on March 18.
