Explosion in occupied Crimea: ammunition detonates at Novofedorivka military airbase
At noon on August 9, explosions were heard at the military airbase in Novofedorivka in the Saksky district of Crimea, occupied by russia
Crimean residents reported it in comments to Ukrainian Pravda and Kryminform.
Residents told UP that "the explosions are still going on; they probably hit warehouses."
"The first explosion was around 3:20 p.m., and ten are reported. According to preliminary information, neighboring houses were damaged," the report said.
It should be noted that planes that attack the Kherson, Zaporizhzhya, and Mykolaiv regions with missiles usually take off from this airbase.
The occupiers have already officially confirmed the "several explosions in the Novofedorivka area" but do not provide details.
The so-called "head" of Crimea, Serhiy Aksyonov, said that he had gone to the scene of the incident and was investigating the circumstances.
Tourists and residents began to flee from Novofedorivka en masse. There were traffic jams on the way out of the city.
Ambulances and fire trucks are going in the opposite direction. Sanaviation was directed to the place of the explosion.
