Collaborator and so-called head of the interim administration of the Zaporizhzhia region Yevhen Balytskyi said that he signed the order to start preparations for the "referendum" on "joining" russia.
It is reported by the russian propaganda news agency RIA Novosti.
"I am signing the order of the Central Election Commission… on the initiation and preparation of a referendum on the reunification of the Zaporizhzhia region with the russian federation," he said.
At the same time, the gauleiter did not say a word when collaborators and kremlin were going to conduct these illegal activities.

In July, Balytskyi stated that the puppet government wanted to hold a so-called "referendum on joining the russian federation" at the beginning of autumn.
The press secretary of russia's president, Dmytro Peskov, pretended that it was not Russia that was going to hold pseudo "referendums" in the occupied territories of Zaporizhzhia and the Kherson regions but the local population.
In July, the russians conducted a poll in the occupied territories of the Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions on joining russia, and only 30% supported the idea. Currently, the efforts of russian propagandists are not yielding results, and there is little support for russia in the occupied territories.
On August 7, President Volodymyr Zelensky said that in the event of pseudo-referendums being held in the occupied territories of southern Ukraine, russia would close any possibility of negotiations with our state.
According to the Center of National Resistance, the russian occupiers want to hold the voting in the so-called "referendums" on the russian "single voting day" on September 11.
