russian warship with burnt side spotted in Sevastopol Bay

Today at around 09:15, a patrol ship of project 22160 type "Vasily Bykov" of the Black Sea Fleet of russia, entered Sevastopol Bay.

The starboard side of the ship was burnt in the stern area. A green army launcher is placed on the stern.

At 09:30, the ship was moored near Kurina pier with the help of tugboats.

The Black Sea Fleet has four project-22160 patrol ships: "Vasily Bykov" (board number 368), "Dmitry Rogachev" (375), "Pavel Derzhavin" (363), and "Sergei Kotov" (383).

Since the beginning of russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the ship numbers of all ships have been concealed to complicate the identification of similar units.

On Thursday, August 4, naval expert HI Sutton of the OSINT project reported on Twitter that a russian warship near occupied Sevastopol suddenly began to emit a smoke screen and was engulfed in plumes of black smoke.

The expert assumed that the masking of the russian ship with the help of smoke did not help it escape a Ukrainian missile, and that is why it was enveloped in clouds of black smoke. However, there is no absolute clarity on this.

On July 29, a patrol ship with a burnt side and a launcher on the stern was also recorded entering Sevastopol Bay.

Each patrol ship of the 22160 project can be armed with a Kalibr-K modular missile complex with Kh-35 missiles or missiles of the Kalibr family. However, according to intelligence, cruise missile launchers are not installed on these ships.

In addition, each patrol ship houses an aviation group — 1 Ka-27PS or Ka-29 or Ka-52K helicopter and 2-4 UAVs in the deck hangar.
