Zelensky: Ukraine, with Estonia’s help, starts rebuilding schools and kindergartens

During the visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Estonia, Urmas Reinsalu, to Ukraine, Ukraine started the reconstruction of schools and kindergartens.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky announced this on Telegram.

"Estonia supports our sovereignty and territorial integrity not with words but with real steps. I am grateful to Minister of Foreign Affairs of Estonia Urmas Reinsalu for this visit, during which we started rebuilding the most important infrastructure: schools and kindergartens," the Ukrainian president said.

He reported that on August 2, Ukraine started the construction of a kindergarten in the border town of Ovruch, Zhytomyr region.

In this context, Zelensky added: "Full reconstruction will take a lot of time and money, but the start has already taken place."

As reported, Estonia became the first country to officially confirm its desire to restore a Ukrainian facility destroyed by the russian occupying forces at its own expense. The head of the Servant of the People party, Olena Shuliak, announced it on the telethon.

As she noted, it would be a kindergarten in the city of Zhytomyr region.

Shuliak reported that the Estonian government has already signed all the necessary documents. The country expressed its desire to take the lead in restoring the destroyed infrastructure throughout the region.

Earlier, Ukraine's Ministry of Education reported that the government of Estonia allocated 5.1 million euros to educational institutions to support the education of Ukrainian children.

It is noted that Estonia has accepted more than 13 thousand Ukrainians under the age of 19, and more than 4.8 thousand Ukrainian children and youth are registered in the country's education system at all educational levels. Also, Tallinn created 1,000 different places in institutions of general secondary, vocational, and technical education to continue the education of children temporarily displaced from Ukraine.

The Ministry of Education reported that the Freedom School for Ukrainians and the Education Estonia educational advisory service would start on September 1.

Rubryka also reported that Estonia transferred the five buses to the Vyshneve City Community, Kyiv Region, to evacuate people from high-risk areas. One of the buses was driven by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Estonian Republic, Kaimo Kuusk.

Hugo Osula from Mootor Grupp AS, which provided the buses, spoke about the unity of Estonians in wanting to help Ukrainians: "I am an entrepreneur from Estonia, and when I learned that the Estonian government has the opportunity to supply buses to Ukraine, I immediately decided to help with delivery. Now the whole of Estonia wants to help Ukraine. We gathered all our drivers together, and there were many of them. We chose the most reliable and best and drove 2300 kilometers. Now, these buses are here. We are very proud to be able to help Ukraine."
