russia's supreme court recognizes Ukrainian Azov Regiment as terrorist organization
The supreme court of russia recognized the Ukrainian Special Operations Detachment "Azov" as a terrorist organization.
This is reported by russian propagandist media, particularly RIA Novosti.
As noted in the publication, the court banned it on the territory of russia.
The court also ruled that the decision regarding "Azov" "is subject to execution immediately, without waiting for it to come into force."
We will remind you that back in May, russia's ministry of justice announced that it was asking the court to recognize the Ukrainian Azov Regiment as a terrorist organization.
Such a proposal began to be actively discussed after the Ukrainian "Azovstal" defenders (among them were part of the "Azov" fighters) received an order to save the lives of the personnel.
The russians captured the soldiers on the condition that they would be exchanged later. The first exchange of Mariupol defenders took place in June.
The decision of the russian court appeared a few days after the russian occupiers set off an explosion in the occupied Olenivka on the premises where there were Ukrainian prisoners of war, in particular Azov soldiers.
As Rubryka reported, the Just Russia–For the Truth parliamentary faction has also developed a draft law in russia that defines the procedure for recognizing foreign states as "terrorist states" or "sponsors of terrorism."
As noted in the publication, so far, only Ukraine is on the list.
"States responsible for terrorism (terrorist states): Ukraine" is written in the document's text.
