russia is responsible for the murder of 53 Ukrainian prisoners of war in prison in the occupied Olenivka, the Donetsk region, on July 28

It is reported by Rubryka, referring to the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW) report.

"ISW assesses that russian forces were responsible for the killing of 53 Ukrainian POWs in an explosion at a Russian-controlled prison in Olenivka, Donetsk Oblast, on July 28.

ISW assesses that russia was responsible for this attack on Ukrainian POWs in violation of the Geneva Conventions, "the analysts' report emphasized.

The institute cites two US officials who anonymously confirmed to Politico on August 1 that "no traces of US-provided HIMARS artillery missile systems have been detected."

The Kremlin claims that Ukraine allegedly used HIMARS missiles to destroy Ukrainian prisoners of war and deter Ukrainian defectors.

However, satellite and other images from the scene of the tragedy show that only one building was damaged in the explosion in Olenivka.

Moreover, the walls of this building are not destroyed, and there is no shell casing nearby.

ISW emphasizes that all this strongly suggests that the prison's destruction resulted from either a high-precision strike or explosives planted inside.

One US official also told Politico that "the evidence showed that Kyiv did not carry out the attack."

On August 1, Prosecutor General Andriy Kostin announced that according to preliminary data from international experts, Ukrainian prisoners of war in the occupied Olenivka colony were killed with the help of thermobaric weapons.

We will remind that on Friday morning, the russian media reported on the shelling of the colony in Olenivka, the Donetsk region, where Ukrainian prisoners were kept. Propagandists claimed that there was at least 53 dead.

The General Staff of Ukraine denied the accusations of the russian federation that the Armed Forces carried out the attack.

According to the General Staff, the russians tried to hide the torture and murder of prisoners.

Intelligence agencies believe that the killing of Ukrainian prisoners in Olenivka, the Donetsk region, was organized by the mercenaries of the "Wagner" PMC on the personal instructions of Yevhen Prigozhin, without coordinating it with the leadership of the russian Ministry of Defense.

The SSU intercepted telephone conversations in which the invaders confirmed that russian troops were responsible for the explosion in the occupied Olenivka colony, which killed at least 53 Ukrainian prisoners.

"Azov" units announced a hunt for all involved in the mass murder of Ukrainian prisoners of war in Olenivka on July 29.

As Rubryka reported, the Red Cross said today that the russian side did not grant the Organization's representatives access to the colony in the occupied Olenivka, where approximately 40 Ukrainian servicemen died and 130 were wounded.

Meanwhile, new satellite images of the colony before and after the killing of the Ukrainian military have been released, showing that the building was blown up from the inside.
