As a result of an enemy shelling, CEO of Nibulon, a major Ukrainian agricultural holding, Oleksiy Vadaturskyi, was killed along with his wife.

That's according to Vitaliy Kim, head of Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, who broke the news on Telegram.

"Mykolaiv is a Hero City. Every day we lose our residents, our soldiers. And today our city lost its Hero. Hero of Ukraine, CEO Nibulon, Oleksiy Vdaturskyi, and his wife Raisa  Vadaturska were tragically killed as a result of an overnight shelling of the city," noted Kim.

He emphasized that Oleksiy Vadaturskyi "did a lot for the Mykolaiv region and Ukraine."

The businessman's contribution to the development of the agricultural and shipbuilding industry and regional development is "invaluable," Kim added.

"With respect and deepest regret… Rest in peace," the official wrote.

Oleksiy Vadaturskyi was a Ukrainian businessman, Hero of Ukraine, founder and CEO of the Nibulon agricultural holding, vice-president of the Ukrainian Grain Association.

Nibulon is a Ukrainian agricultural company specializing in the production and export of grains wheat, barley, and corn. Headquartered in Mykolaiv, it is Ukraine's only agricultural company with its own fleet and shipyard.

The news of Vadaturskyi's death in a Russian missile strike comes in the wake of the reports that the first caravan of vessels carrying Ukrainian grain will depart from the Ukrainian ports within days, despite Russia's earlier attack on the Odesa seaport and constant shelling of the littoral regions.

Memo. On July 22, as a result of the quadrilateral meeting of Ukraine, Turkey, the UN and Russia, held in Istanbul, an agreement was signed, according to which Ukraine would proceed with the exports of grain and other food products from its ports.
