russia's shelling of Mykolaiv: Rubryka reporting from the scene
On July 28, the russians massively shelled Mykolaiv around 4 am. Residential buildings, the Shipbuilding University's water station warehouse, and a local school were damaged.
Rubryka visited the locations of the missile hits.
One projectile hit the water station. The russian shelling partially damaged the fence, and part of the roof and walls of the warehouse were destroyed. There are no casualties.
Instead, the 49th school was hit by three rockets. One aimed at the road near the school, the second hit the courtyard, and the third hit the school building itself.
The security guard who was on duty was injured. He found himself under the rubble, but he was helped in time.
"Our security guard was here, as he was every night. Fortunately, he remained alive. The workers came to clean up the rubble a little, but the roof was destroyed, the director's office was gone, and not a single window survived. Only chairs and desks are left," says one of the school workers, who asked us not to be named.
Nearby houses were also damaged. Resident Oleksandr said:
"We heard all three hits. A lot of people's windows were blown out by the blast wave. The neighbors just repaired the roof, but after today's shelling, the slate came down again."
It is no information about what will happen to the school. Experts have to assess whether it is subject to recovery.
