Grain export Joint Coordination Center opened in Istanbul

The opening ceremony of the Joint Coordination Center (JCC), which was created as part of the implementation of the so-called "grain agreement," took place in Istanbul on Wednesday

It was reported by the state Turkish agency Anadolu, Rubryka writes.

As noted in the publication, the Center operates on the University of National Defense territory.

Along with the representatives of Turkey, Ukraine, and the russian federation, diplomats from the UN will work in the JCC.

With the help of the Center, they plan to inspect the ships that will participate in grain export from three Ukrainian ports on the Black Sea — Odesa, Chornomorsk, and Pivdennyi.

Addressing the participants of the Center, Turkish Defense Minister Hulusi Akar emphasized the need to ensure the supply of 25 million tons of Ukrainian grain to countries that need to purchase agricultural products.

He emphasized that the organization of an uninterrupted supply of grain will reduce the prices of food products worldwide and eliminate the food crisis.

"There is no need for demining maritime zones within the framework of the agreement on the "grain corridor." Preparations for the supply of grain to the ports of Ukraine are ongoing," said the Turkish minister.

Akar noted that Turkey continues the dialogue regarding this process with Ukraine and russia.

As previously reported by Rubryka, Ukraine signed an agreement with Turkey and the UN on July 22 on safe grain export through the Black Sea.

Mykhailo Podolyak, the adviser to the head of the President's Office, emphasized that Ukraine does not sign any documents with russia.

"We sign an agreement with Turkey and the UN and undertake obligations to them. russia signs a mirror agreement with Turkey and the UN," he wrote.

Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu signed the agreement with Turkey and the UN on behalf of russia.

The agreement will not provide for the escort of transport by russian ships and the presence of russian representatives in Ukrainian ports.

The very next day after signing the agreement, russia violated it by shelling the port of Odesa. It was condemned by the UN, the EU, and the US. Ankara called on the parties to fulfill the reached agreements.
